Lacunar Infarcts of cerebrum

•A coronal section of brain through the lenticular nucleus and internal capsule
•The arrows point to small cyst-like infarcts which are known as lacunes or lacunar infarcts because of their small size.
•They are thought to be due to occlusion of small arteries.
