Cystic Renal Cell Carcinoma

• The lesion is a solitary fibrous walled cyst with necrotic material. The cyst also contained muddy brown fluid.
• Microscopic examination of the contents showed amorphous material. The wall consisted of benign fibrous tissue.
• The renal parenchyma on the left shows no evidence of cystic disease.
• Though un-resolved, the lesion may represent a burnt-out cystic renal cell carcinoma.
