Bronchogenic Cyst

Etiology: • Congenital malformation

Pathogenesis: • Abnormal formation of bronchiole in fetal development.

Epidemiology: • Rare finding in the pediatric population.

General Gross Description: • Delicate thin walled cyst

General Microscopic Description: • Ciliated respiratory type epithelium.

Clinical Correlations: • May cause dyspnea, atelectasis, or hyperinflation with obstruction
