| Adenomatoid Malformation of Lung |
| Etiology: • Congenital. |
| Pathogenesis: • Abnormal bronchiolar division resulting in cyst formation. |
| Epidemiology: • Rare congenital anomaly • Type 2 may be associated with other malformations. |
| General Gross Description: • Three major patterns including I (large cysts), II (multiple small-medium cysts), III (massive area of small cysts) |
| General Microscopic Description: • Type 1 generally lined by ciliated epithelium. • Type 2 and 3 lined by bronchiolar type epithelium |
| Clinical Correlations: • Present in post-natal period with respiratory distress. • Patients with type 2 lesion may have symptoms from other malformations. |
