| Etiology: Unknown. |
| Pathogenesis: Unknown. |
| Epidemiology: Common tumors of adult individuals. Occur at all ages. Males and females equally affected. |
| General Gross Description: May occur anywhere in the body, most often in the subcutaneous tissues. Grossly, characterized by lobulated yellow mass, surrounded by a thin capsule. |
| General Microscopic Description: Microscopically, composed of adult, mature, histologically normal looking adipocytes. |
| Clinical Correlations: Usually present as a painless, soft mass. The clinical course is benign and complete excision is curative. |
