Blow Up of Bronchopneumonia of the Lung

Bronchopneumonia

• Portion of the lower lobe of the lung sectioned open to show bronchi (arrow) and parenchyma.
• Bronchi have deep red inflamed mucosa.
• Normal pink lung has been replaced by densely congested lung showing fine nodular consolidation (blue arrows).
• Regions of consolidation feel airless and firm.
