Fetal membranes (4X) •This is a photo of fetal membranes. •Black arrow indicates the simple squamous to cuboidal amniontic epithelium. Note the layer of amniotic connective tissue beneath the epithelium. •There is artifactual separation of the amnion and chorion. •Blue arrow points to the trophoblast cells of the chorion which form a continuous layer.
