•Wall of the vessel is now made up of intermediate trophoblastic cells with large, slightly irregular nuclei (green arrow).
•No endothelial lining or muscular wall.
•Small cells surrounding the vessel are decidual cells (endometrial stromal cells) (black arrows) with scattered lymphocytes.
