Transverse sections viewed from above with anterior surfaces facing upward.
Note the ill defined areas of tan discoloration of the anterolateral wall in both sections (black arrows). This is the typical appearence of an acute infarct.
The lower section shows thinning and discoloration of posterior walls of the left and right ventricles, and intervening posterior interventricular septum (white arrows), typical of a scarred healed infarct.
