Atrial Myxoma

This is a bisected myxoma measuring 4 X 2 X 2 cm showing the surface of the tumor on the left, and the cut surface on the right.
Note the resected portion of the attached atrial wall (arrows), and the broad pedicle of the tumor.
Note the typical smooth glistening surface and the variegated cut surface with hemorrhage, possibly due to surgical trauma.
This benign neoplasm may mimic mitral stenosis clinically, when it arises from the left atrium.
