Lacunar Infarcts of cerebrum
Lacunar Infarcts of cerebrum

A coronal section of brain through the lenticular nucleus and internal capsule.
The arrows point to small cyst-like infarcts which are known as lacunes or lacunar infarcts because of their small size.
They are thought to be due to occlusion of small arteries.
