Attachment surface of an osteochondroma

This is the surface through which the osteochondroma is attached to the bone of origin.
Note the central area of red (hemorrage) due to the resection of the tumor.
To the periphery is the cartilagenous covering of the tumor.
Note the typical furrowed appearance.
