Abscess Cavity of Lung (Aspergillus)

This is photograph of a lung sectioned fresh at the time of autopsy.
The parenchyma is red and congested.
The arrow points to a cystic lesion that contained necrotic debris.
The lesion did not exhibit the hemorrhagic necrosis often seen with aspergillus invasion of pulmonary fessels.
