Normal Spleen
Normal Spleen

A high power view of normal spleen focusing on the white pulp.
The yellow arrow points to an arteriole surrounded by a cuff of lymphocytes.
Notice the typically eccentric arrangement of these lymphocytes.
Most of the lymphocytes in this area are probably T lymphocytes.
When a germinal center occurs within the white pulp, it tends to be placed even more eccentrically, with a typical central germinal center surrounded by a cuff of resting B lymphocytes.
