Velamentous Insertion of Umbilical Cord

Twin placenta.
Umbilical cord "A" inserts normally into one side of the placental disc.
Umbilical cord "B" inserts into the membranes.
The arteries and veins leaving and entering "B" travel through the membranes, unsupported by the disc.
