| The predominant cell type in this image is the columnar endocervical cell.
The nuclei are round and dark.
The columnar cytoplasm is blue and may contain mucin vacuoles.
Scattered red blood cells, nuetrophils and occasional superficial squamous cells can be seen in this photomiocrograph.
