• This view of the chorionic plate highlights the amnionic epithelium and underlying amniotic mesoderm which forms the upper portion of the plate (black arrows). • The remaining mesoderm is chorionic. • The blue arrows surround the underlying subchorionic fibrin which becomes more pronounced as term approaches.
