| | This view of the chorionic plate highlights the amnionic epithelium and underlying amniotic mesoderm which forms the upper portion of the plate (black arrows).
The remaining mesoderm is chorionic.
The blue arrows surround the underlying subchorionic fibrin which becomes more pronounced as term approaches.
