| Normal Chorionic Plate (Low Power)
| | This low power view allows orientation to the chorionic plate (cp).
The chorionic plate is covered by a layer of amnion and is composed of mesoderm containing fetal vessels.
Beneath the chorionic plate is usually a layer of subchorionic fibrin and villi.
The intervillus space (IVS) between the villi is filled with maternal blood in vivo.
