The fetal vessels are separated from the maternal space by endothelial cell cytoplasm, endothelial and trophoblast basement membrane, and trophoblast cytoplasm.
The yellow arrow points to a Hoffbauer cell.
The blue arrow reveals syncytiotrophoblast nuclei.
