Epidemiology
• Rare
• Predominantly post-menopausal women
• May be associated with underlying adenocarcinoma (<15%)

General Gross Description
• Red, crusting, itchy lesion
|
General Microscopic Description
• Malignant cells individually infiltrate the squamous mucosa or in small nests
• Nuclei have large nucleolus and are hyperchromatic
• Cytoplasm contains mucin
|
Clinical Correlation
• Treatment is usually surgical with an effort to clear the margins
|
