Irregularity in the endometrial lining
General Microscopic Description

Eosinophilic fibrin called Nitabuch's fibrin
Densely cellular stroma consisting of extravillous trophoblast, decidualized stromal cells, and numerous lymphocytes
Lymphocytes decrease in number with gestational age
Decidual vessels containing extravillous trophoblast or converted to large vessels
