| General Gross Description • may achieve enormous size • smooth external surface • unilocular cyst or one with few septae • contains clear, yellow, slimy fluid • smooth, thin lining |
| General Microscopic Description • columnar epithelium with mucin containing cells • usually identical to endocervical or intestinal epithelium • bland stroma |
| Clinical Correlation • reproductive age women • adnexal mass • symptoms of heaviness or pressure if large • cured with surgical cystectomy • 5% bilateral |
