Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Situ (10X)
Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Situ (10X)

This view of the epithelium shows increased overall thickness as well as keratinization.
In addition many cells are identified within the epidermis which have halos.
These cells are not distributed in the superficial layers, as seen in condyloma, but are scattered throughout the epithelium.
They are individually keratinized cells located far beneath the surface.
