| A high power view of the edge of the infarct showing
reactive astrocytes with eccentric nuclei and smooth
eosinophilic cytoplasm and macrophages with small dark
nuclei and vaculated cytoplasm
Macrophages come in to clean up dead tissue.
Astrocytes form scar tissue in the form of astoglial
fibers.
