Cut and external surfaces of a liposarcoma
Cut and external surfaces of a liposarcoma

The image demonstrates the cut (right) and external (left) surfaces of a liposarcoma, a malignant tumor of adipocyte origin.
Note that unlike the benign lipoma, this tumor has few areas of the yellow color of lipid.
In contrast, there are areas of hemorrhage due to the rapid growth and the poor quality of the capillaries in the lesion.
