An oil immersion view of a deposit of malignant melanoma in the bone marrow.
The cell at the tip of the bright pointer highlights the features typical of a plasma cell.
Notice that the chromatin structure in the nucleus is distinctly punctate and is referred to as a "cartwheel" appearance.
The cytoplasm is basophilic.
The peri-nuclear halo is not very clearly seen in this particular cell.
Most of the cells in this field are plasma cells.
